(Originally posted on Travel Books and Movies in April 2012) The Saw movies are one of the most recognizable horror franchises—they’re full of blood and gore, create fear, and have a few creative twists and turns that delight fans.  When adjusted for inflation, the seven movies in the franchise combine for the fifth highest-grossing horror franchise in America and Canada having brought in approximately $457 million.

Although Saw 3D: The Final Chapter, the 2010 addition to the franchise, will be the last movies in the series (at least “for now” according to series creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell), there are plenty of opportunities for fans to continue to enjoy the series including video games, a ride at Thorpe Park in the United Kingdom, and special Saw-themed mazes that are created for Halloween around the world…there is even a special travel opportunity for those that follow the series: a Saw at Sea Cruise.

The 5-day cruise (which is offered 11 August-16 August) departs New York City and travels through beautiful Canada—where six of the seven movies were filmed.  Stars from the movies will also be on board and cruisers will have several opportunities to interact with them.

Not only will cruisers be able to enjoy the Carnival Glory’s restaurants, pools and other amenities, but depending on the package they purchase, they will have several other perks:
